Workshop on Noise Impact and Control for Low-Altitude Aviation
Advancing Research, Regulation & Sustainable Low-altitude Aviation
31 Oct – 1 Nov 2025 | The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST)
About the Workshop
We are thrilled to have you join us for this exciting and informative event. The Workshop on Noise Impact and Control for Low-Altitude Aviation will bring together leading researchers, industry experts, and policymakers to address the growing challenges and innovations in low-altitude aircraft noise. With the rapid expansion of unmanned aerial vehicles, urban air mobility, and advanced air transportation systems, understanding and mitigating noise impact is critical for sustainable development. This workshop aims to:
- Facilitate knowledge exchange on the latest research advances in noise generation, measurement, and control.
- Bridge gaps between scientific research, engineering applications, and regulatory frameworks.
- Promote collaborative solutions for noise reduction, environmental impact assessment, and policy development.
Scope and Topics
The workshop will cover (but is not limited to):
- Noise mechanisms of low-altitude aircraft
- Noise control technologies (e.g., aerodynamic design, propulsion units)
- Testing, prediction methodologies, and computational modelling
- Environmental impact assessment and flight route optimization
- Meteorological effects on low-altitude aircraft noise propagation
- Noise standards, regulations, and policy support
- Noise from electric/hybrid aircraft and novel airframe configurations
